Iraqi Blogs
Not sure why I haven't posted these before, but they all of them rank among my most often-read blogs, because they provide not only a fascinating insight into the thoughts and lives of other, very different people, but also because they provide a fascinatingly differing set of views and opinions on the 'facts' that the daily news media presents to us as Truth.
I read with a mixture of encouragement, sadness, confusion, and happy warmth the many differences of opinions and marvelous writing styles these people provide me. Enrich yourself. Experience another country, another way of life, and another view of the world around you through the eyes of those who were once oppressed like none of us will ever (hopefully) understand.
I give you the Iraqi bloggers, in no particular order:
Iraq the Model
Iraqi Spirit
Baghdad Burning
Iraq at a Glance
The Messopotamian
Healing Iraq
Dear Raed
Raed in the Middle
And for those of you who don't know it yet, Bloglines is a fantastic tool for dealing with blogs in their oft-sporadically posted existence. You add the links, and it will keep track of whether or not they've been updated. Suddenly, instead of 1 or 5 or 20 different blogs to visit on a semi-regular basis, just to see if they've changed, you've only got 1 page to hit, and it tells you what's new, and even lets you read it right there.
