Can't recall if I've blogged this before or not, but it just continually strikes me as cool and amazing that we live in an age where we can go online and watch (nearly) live images, in nice crisp high resolution, of an active volcano in the process of its first significant eruption since the massive explosion of 1980, from the utter safety of our home or work. And the images are so often astoundingly beautiful, like this morning's shot (11:31am, dec. 2, for as long as they archive it).
The armchair geologist in me is thrilled.
